WaterVision illuminates entire competition pool with only 17 Watt LED underwater lights
The Wielingenbad in Wenduine was recently equipped with the latest and smallest underwater lighting from WaterVision. This lighting replaces the old lighting and not only saves energy costs, but also has an excellent result as a result.
Less Watt, less energy, excellent result
WaterVision has equipped the competition pool with 14 underwater floodlights of only 17 Watt and provides direct energy savings of 30% compared to the old situation with LED lighting.
Easy replacement
The WV3 underwater floodlight is the smallest of the WaterVision range. The old LED lighting has been successfully replaced 1-on-1 with this. The existing built-in pots have been used, because the WV3 is fitted with a universal stainless steel adapter ring. “That saved a lot of cutting and breaking work and meant that the assembly of the 14 lamps in the competition pool and the 4 lamps in the paddling pool went very smoothly. Visitors did not experience any inconvenience during the replacement of the lamps. The WaterVision technician, two electricians and the swimming pool technician worked together very well, so that all old lamps were replaced very quickly. A major advantage was that WaterVision’s working method meant that the water did not have to be taken out of the bath,” says Mr. Vanhaecke.
Excellent track
Since the vast majority of the existing underwater lighting of the Wielingenbad was broken, there was some urgency to quickly replace the lamps. “In the preliminary phase, WaterVision gave excellent advice and provided a very convincing demo,” says Mr. Vanhaecke. “As a result, WaterVision has demonstrated the robust quality and light output of the lamps. The end result is beautiful and we are very happy with it. During the evenings we even turn off the overhead lighting, making the swimming experience of the swimmers even better. Swimmers approach me enthusiastically and are very pleased with the result.”
About the WV3 underwater floodlight
The WV3 is the smallest WaterVision Powerlamp for underwater. It is available in 8 and 17 Watt and available in various colours. At the Wielingenbad in Wenduine, 17 Watt ‘Mediterranean Blue’ has been chosen. This NanoPower® color has the property that it provides good visibility, light distribution and light efficiency. Due to the multifunctional fit of the lamp, the WV3 fits on almost all recessed pots in its class.

Swimming pool Wielingen is a public swimming pool located in Wenduine; a seaside resort in West Flanders located on the Belgian coast and a borough of the Municipality of De Haan. Wenduine is also known as the ‘Princess of the Seaside Towns’ and has approximately 4,000 inhabitants. Swimming pool Wielingen is located at Graaf Jansdijk 18 and is operated by TMVW.
